Repurposed Builds
Old materials carry character that new ones cannot replicate. Reclaimed wood, salvaged fixtures, repurposed elements — spaces built with history, soul, and a much lighter footprint.
Character built in
Reclaimed Wood
Old-growth Douglas fir, cedar, and hemlock recovered from demolished buildings — material with decades of character that cannot be bought new. Cleaned, graded, and reused as flooring, cladding, millwork, and structural elements.
Salvaged Fixtures
Vintage hardware, lighting, plumbing fixtures, and architectural salvage sourced locally and integrated into new builds. A salvaged pendant or cast iron sink carries more presence than anything available off-the-shelf.
Sustainable Build
Beyond salvaged materials — a build approach that minimises waste, uses low-embodied-carbon products where new materials are required, and thinks about the whole life of the building from the start. Good for the coast you are building on.
Custom Fabrication
One-off pieces made from salvaged stock — dining tables from old-growth beams, shelving from reclaimed boards, kitchen islands from found stone. Custom fabrication that makes the material the centrepiece of the space.

Our repurposed process
Material Inventory
We start with what exists — either from your own deconstruction project, local salvage yards, or our network of material sources across North Vancouver Island. We catalogue what is available, assess its condition and structural suitability, and identify the best uses for each piece.
1 to 3 daysMaterial Strategy
Salvaged materials are integrated into the design drawings — not as an afterthought but as the starting point. Reclaimed beam locations, salvaged floor runs, and found fixture placements are coordinated with the architectural design so the materials define the space.
Design phase — concurrent with conceptCleaning & Grading
Reclaimed material is cleaned, de-nailed, planed or sanded as needed, and graded for quality. Old-growth wood is assessed for structural use versus finish use. Fixtures are tested, restored, or stripped back to their best state. Nothing gets installed until it is ready.
1 to 5 daysCustom Build
One-off pieces are fabricated to the drawings — dining tables, built-in shelving, kitchen islands, feature walls, and structural elements. The irregularity and patina of salvaged material is part of the brief, not a problem to solve.
Varies by piece — 1 day to 3 weeksSite Integration
Reclaimed materials are installed with the same care and precision as new materials — often more, because each piece is irreplaceable. Flooring, cladding, and millwork are fitted to account for the natural variation in salvaged stock, with finished joints and details that honour the material.
